Worked as a mentor in the mentorship component of the CETARS program at the Univeristy of Puerto Rico- Aguadilla.

 

Description of career experience (what I learned):

As a mentor, I served as a role model and offered academic/personal advice to four protégés. Through the mentorship program I have learned to convey ideas more

efficiently and to develop leadership skills. I’ve also learned many things from the perspectives and ideas of my protégés.

 

What is your perception of agriculture now:

Agriculture is necessary to enhance and sustain human life. We must generate knowledge in order to improve current agricultural methods or come up with new ones in

response to the needs of humanity now and in a not so distant future.

 

How has this career experience broadened your employment opportunities:

I’ve developed and enhanced my leadership skills as well as my efficiency in communicating ideas and educating others.

 

Career and research aspirations:

I aspire to graduate with honors from the Biology (Biomedical Sciences) program of the UPR-Aguadilla and pursue an MD degree in the field of cardiology. I also hope to

carry out research in this particular field and to communicate my findings with peers and the general public.

aspects of my life. I’ve been able to build strong networks with my peers and showed that I’m highly motivated and willing to help my colleagues.
