Career cxperience/location:

Worked in a reseach internship at the USDA- CETARS under the supervision of Dr. Rolando Tremont.

 

Description of career experience (what I learned):

I worked in the analysis of wather, food and educate students of high school for the importance of environmental care, and the use correctly of natural resources. In

addition to teaching simple analysis of soil and water.

 

What is your perception of agriculture now?

We must teach our children the love for the environment and agriculture, for increase the resources of a growing society.

 

How has this career experience broadened your employment opportunities?

I learned working in team, how use of electrochemistry instrument, and realize a different analisys in the environment area. Knowledge about these techniques can open

doors in subgraduade school and research laboratories.

 

Career and research aspirations:

I aspire to finish my PhD in environmental chemistry within the next five years and find a job at the USDA- Farm Service Agency. In 10 years I would like have an

established career record.

 

Skill Set:

- Computer skills – Biotecnology techniques -Proficient Liquid ang Gas Chromatography.

 

The impact of my career experience:

The reseach experiences at the USDA has given me the necessary skills to become a competent scientist. I also learned to use novel methods of analysis for a variety of

compounds of agricultural interest, such as water, soil and food. These experiences will prepare me to compete in the job market specially at USDA. My long term goals are

to find a reseach position at USDA- Farm Service Agengy.
