worked with the optimization of the process of removing atrazine in water using chitosan beads. Atrazine concentrations used were 0.25ppm to 8.00ppm.
What is your perception of agriculture now:
Agriculture today is of great importance to our national economy and human survival. Basic and applied research can optimize and improve agricultural processes for
better food production.
How has this career experience broadened your employment opportunities:
The experience of research in the field of agriculture has been very satisfactory. It will be useful, as it has given me the opportunity to work in a lab where I lean and apply
research techniques aimed at the branch of chemistry in which I want to specialize.
Career and research aspirations:
In the near future I hope to finish my degree in chemistry with a specialization in the environmental area. After the masters I will apply to do my PhD in the field of
environmental sciences. In the next 10 years I hope to have the experience needed to find work in a federal agency in Puerto Rico, to help improve agricultural labor and

The experience of working on research in the field of agriculture has been very rewarding on a professional and personal level. It has helped me become aware of the
importance and development of agriculture in my Puerto Rico and other countries. On the other hand, having this kind of experience helps my professional improvement.
The experience of working in the laboratory has also helped me develop and apply research in the field of agriculture. Besides, this type of research has awakened in me the
curiosity to continue studying and knowing about environmental and agricultural issues. The development of the research has made me a more prepared and confident
woman when it comes to applying my knowledge in the workplace.
